Depart on your overnight flight to Budapest, arriving in Hungary’s lively capital spanning the banks of the Danube. The reminder of the day is free to relax and enjoy the city.
Take in the beauty of Budapest while enjoying a free morning to explore the sites of Budapest. Get to know the city’s cafés and pubs, and don’t miss the unique Christmas markets that Budapest hosts every year during the Festive season Gaillard – historic home of King Richard the Lionheart.
Board your ship this afternoon and enjoy the warmth and glow of Christmas traditions as your ship overnights in Budapest. (B, D)
Budapest’s unique energy is positively palatable. On your included tour of the city, see Heroes’ Square as well as the massive hilltop castle complex with its remarkable Fisher- men’s Bastion and 11th-century Matthias Church, the corona- tion spot of several Hungarian monarchs. You may even want to walk across Chain Bridge, built in 1849 and a symbol of Budapest.
The afternoon is free to spend more time at the Christmas markets or perhaps visit St. Stephen’s Basilica for marvelous city views from its viewing platform, or stroll along Váci utca, the main shopping street.
